The History of YUP Mobility
The article published in La Vanguardia on July 9, 2022, reveals the beginnings of YUP Mobility through siblings Branco and María Calleja García. We started in 2007 with the patent of a charger for cell phones, but over time, our vision expanded into micromobility. The covid-19 pandemic gave us the opportunity to explore solutions for the growing presence of scooters and electric bicycles on our streets.
Our Commitment to Innovation
YUP Mobility emerges as a spin-off of YUP Charge, focused on offering advanced solutions for charging and parking personal mobility vehicles. Since its launch at the end of 2020, we have sold more than 2,000 electric scooter chargers throughout Spain, installing them in various spaces such as city halls, shopping malls, stores, gyms and universities.
Awards and Recognition
We have recently won the prestigious Delta awards from the Associació de Disseny Industrial i Foment de les Arts i el Disseny (ADI-FAD), which underlines the quality and innovation of our solutions. In addition, we are immersed in a pilot test in Barcelona to validate a walkable solar floor for charging our parking lots, with the support of EIT Urban Mobility.
The Future of YUP Mobility
Based in Ripollet and with a team of 16 people between YUP Mobility and YUP Charge, we are in a financing round to accelerate the growth of the spin-off. Our goal is to bill approximately two million euros this year, marking an important milestone in our journey towards the transformation of urban mobility.
